Competitive Gymnastics
Strong Athletes. Confident Kids. Great Teammates.
Competitive gymnastics at Blue Angels is about more than skills, scores, and medals. Our goal is to develop strong, confident, resilient athletes who are proud of their progress, support their teammates, and love the sport they have chosen.
Â
We believe competitive gymnastics can teach incredible life lessons: perseverance, goal setting, accountability, courage, teamwork, and how to keep going when something doesn't come easily.
Â
Our athlete-first approach means training decisions are made with the long-term development and well-being of each gymnast in mind. We challenge athletes to work hard and pursue excellence while creating an environment where they feel safe, supported, valued, and excited to come to the gym.
Our Competitive Programs
MAGA Gymnastics

Our MAGA program provides another competitive pathway for Blue Angels athletes, with an emphasis on skill development, teamwork, confidence, and the excitement of competition.

The Midwest Amateur Gymnastics Association (MAGA) has been providing competitive gymnastics opportunities for athletes throughout the Upper Midwest since 1982. Originally founded by five Minnesota gymnastics clubs, MAGA has grown into an association serving thousands of athletes and offering competition for gymnasts of varying ability levels, from high school feeder programs through competitive gymnastics. MAGA competitions follow National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) rules and give athletes the opportunity to represent their club individually while also contributing to a team.
Â
At Blue Angels, we value the MAGA program because it provides athletes with a positive, team-centered competitive experience where they can develop skills, build confidence, experience the excitement of competition, and grow alongside their teammates.

The Competitive Commitment
Competitive gymnastics requires a greater commitment than recreational gymnastics.
Â
Team athletes and families should be prepared for:
Â
Consistent Training
Regular attendance is essential to athlete development, safety, and team preparation.
Â
Multiple Practices Each Week
Training hours vary based on competitive level and program.
Â
Competition Season
Athletes participate in 6-8 scheduled competitions throughout the season.
Â
Meet Fees & Additional Expenses
Competitive participation includes expenses beyond regular tuition, which may include meet entry fees, uniforms, memberships, travel, and other team-related costs.
Â
Team Responsibilities
Families participate in required team activities, including volunteering and supporting BAGC-hosted events.
Â
Year-Round Development
Competitive gymnastics is an ongoing developmental program. Training outside the competition season is an important part of preparing athletes for future skills and levels.
